Mary Velasco
SCHOOL PRINCIPAL/HEAD TEACHER. PHILIPPINES.
Mrs. Mary Velasco is a licensed teacher from the Philippines, is one of the founding teachers of Waldorf/Steiner Education at Gecko Garden School and leads the College of Teachers. She has been with GGS since 2009 and has an ongoing Masters in Educational Management in the Philippines. Mary has taken part in Waldorf teacher training throughout Southeast Asia and is also a member of the Center for Anthroposophy in New York. Mary enjoys being a teacher and a mother to her 5 year old daughter. She loves storytelling, creating puppet shows and sewing.

Sovannak Pha
PRESCHOOL HEAD TEACHER. CAMBODIA.
Teacher Sovannak is a licensed teacher in Cambodia and she has completed her Waldorf Early Childhood Education Teacher Training in the Philippines. She continues to strengthen her knowledge in Waldorf/ Steiner Education through online trainings with the Center for Anthroposophy in New York and Banyan Waldorf Institute in India. She has been with Gecko Garden for over 15 years.

Veasna Hong
AMBASSADOR. CAMBODIA.
Teacher Veasna has been with Gecko Garden since 2017, and in early childhood education since 2015. She has trained abroad as a Waldorf early years teacher, and led classes as a beloved Head Teacher since 2020. She is famous among GGS families for her passion for food that is nutritious and delicious. In 2019 she founded and heads Healthy Kids Kitchen, which provides healthy lunches and snacks to the children at the school. She is a passionate storyteller and dollmaker, inspiring the faculty and children with her magical dolls and puppets, and watercolor paintings. While taking some time off teaching, Veasna became our first GGS Ambassador in 2024.

Sek Bunkimsa
PRESCHOOL HEAD TEACHER. CAMBODIA.
Teacher Kimsal is the Head Teacher of Malis Class. She has been working at Gecko Garden School for more than 20 years and is one of the founding teachers. Teacher Kimsal has had education training from Vietnam and has been a part of different Waldorf teacher trainings online such as the Banyan Waldorf Institute in India. She loves creating puppet shows and toys for the children.

Sopheak Touch
KINDERGARTEN HEAD TEACHER. CAMBODIA.
Tr. Sopheak has been a beloved teacher at GGS since 2005. She has attended Waldorf teacher trainings in Thailand and online. She has also received training in early childhood education from Kroursa Yerng Organization. Teacher Sopheak is passionate about music, and has taught herself to play Choroi flutes, recorders, Cambodian flutes, and western orchestral flutes. She brings musical inspiration to the entire GGS community and often leads the Gecko Garden Teachers Chorus.

Sovanna Liv
OPERATIONS MANAGER. CAMBODIA.
Miss Sovanna is the Operations Manage of GGS since 2017. She used to work with finance, budget and Cambodian taxation for more than 10 years at World Vision and Gret Cambodia from 2022 until 2016. Miss Sovanna also likes learning about Waldorf Education and has joined many workshops including toy making and puppetry. She enjoys her work of collaborating with the teachers in providing a beautiful experience for the young children. She ensures the Gecko Garden School is compliant with all the requirements needed by the different ministries in Cambodia.

Ana Bruff
KINDERGARTEN HEAD TEACHER. ROMANIA.
Mrs. Georgiana Bruff is the Head Teacher of Chanthou Class. Tr. Ana has a degree in Early Childhood Education and many years of experience as a kindergarten teacher at an international school. Prior to joining the teaching at GGS, she was a mother to one of the students and has actively supported by volunteering in different teaching capacities. Teacher Ana has completed a certificate in Montessori Teacher Training in her early years of teaching. She discovered Waldorf education when she became a mother and has been joining different Waldorf teacher trainings ever since.

Molly Plexico
ADMINISTRATIVE DIRECTOR. USA/UK.
Molly Plexico is the Administrative Director of Gecko Garden School, having joined the school in 2023. She has been living in Southeast Asia for over a decade leading international programs including those focused on education. Molly has a strong background in management and health & safety. She discovered Waldorf/Steiner education when she became a mother and has had a growing love for this kind of approach.

Marco Angelo Romualdo
PRESCHOOL HEAD TEACHER. PHILIPPINES.
Mr. Marco Romualdo is a licensed teacher from the Philippines and is the Head Teacher of Champa Class. Tr. Marco has a degree in Elementary Education with a focus on the preschool years. He has been teaching in Cambodia for over 13 years. Tr. Marco is an advocate for the natural way of learning where learning is taking place with freedom and with the child's own pace. Tr. Marco also studied music education and writes his own songs.
